The Bistro: A Scenic Dining Experience at the Ritz-Carlton in Santa Barbara

The atmosphere and ocean views are absolutely beautiful, and the service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout our visit. While the dishes were nicely presented, the taste was average and didn’t fully meet expectations for the price point. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but still a lovely spot to enjoy the scenery and good service.

This rating is teetering between 3 to 4 stars. Let me start by saying that the service was excellent! Everyone was very friendly. No issues there. As for the food and atmosphere, I guess I had higher expectations and was a little let down. I came here last night with my husband for dinner. The restaurant was under renovation, so we got seated in an outdoor tent with a few other guests with no view. It was small and chilly. Food was hit or miss: *Breadsticks + herb butter: 5 stars *Hamachi crudo: 5 stars *Smash burger + fries: 5 stars *6oz filet of beef: 3 stars (I asked for medium rare, it came medium well and was quite tough to eat. The pepper sauce was not anything to write home about. Baby carrots, tiny onions were good. Beet sauce was meh!) *Sour cream cheesecake w/kumquat puree: 3.5 stars (skip the puree if you get this, as there were some bitter parts to it. Cheesecake was nice and creamy.) *Apple fig crumble with ice cream: 3.6 stars (A fan of the vanilla bean ice cream, but the crumble itself was quite hard and crunchy, more like a granola texture.) Overall, a shrug-and-meh situation. Go for the burger, apps, and service!

Perfect location in side the Ritz-Carlton. Food and service quality is also good. Price/quality rate for food is not good! Not “must go” but if you are around and ready to enjoy the late afternoon and evening in a lovely hotel atmosphere then go! Otherwise pass.

What a wonderful way to complete a spa day! The four cheese pizza had just the right amount of garlic on a perfect crust; the fontana cheese a light golden brown. The Caesar salad was topped with nicely shaved parmesan and included cherry tomatoes and anchovies (on the side, by request). The croutons were a little too large and hard for my taste. Our server couldn't have been nicer. She overheard a birthday toast and brought a nummy tiramisu for dessert!

Wow, what beautiful, classy resort where everyone feels extra, extra special. The Bistro Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton Resort Bacara teases diners with its fun in the sun swimming pool scenes, ocean waves views, and Spanish style white buildings, and luxury stay possibilities if only you had an Aston Martin to valet park. Cool refreshments, delectable dishes with a side of ambiance, can't go wrong with any choices since it's all about catering to insatiable tastes. The Ritz-Carlton brand name always lives up to its reputation and it's why it belongs on everyone's bucket list of places to eat at!

Celebrated a birthday here. Ambience is amazing, service is really good too. They serve warm bread with herbed butter before serving food. Warm was warm and fresh. Rigatoni pasta was good. Very average margherita pizza. Staff was really cooperative. They got us cake with candle.

Nice place for a quick lunch! The service is prompt, the waiter was new but cordial. Don’t over do it with the starters like we did it, it’s more plentiful then you’d imagine. We had the wings and Soup, which was delicious albeit sweeter then I imagined. The fish tacos are excellent, I’d highly recommend them. Also, if you’re into fruit beverages I’d recommend the freshly squeezed orange juice and pomegranate lime mojito mocktail.
